The London-based tech company has officially revealed the complete design of the upcoming earbuds, showcasing a new charging case that introduces some notable changes.

Design Changes:

The most visible change is in the charging case. Instead of the earlier transparent plastic frame, the new Ear 3 case features a metallic finish. The familiar grooves that once displayed the earbuds’ plastic casing have been replaced by metal sections, giving the case a more square-shaped appearance.

Despite these changes, Nothing has retained the transparent top lid, preserving the brand’s signature aesthetic.

Nothing earlier confirmed that the Ear 3 earbuds case is made of 100% recycled anodized aluminum—a move aimed at improving durability and reducing plastic use, aligning with the company’s focus on sustainability.

The earbuds themselves continue to feature transparent stems, but metallic elements are now much more visible around the structure.

Technical Enhancements:

There is speculation that Nothing has redesigned the internal metal antenna to help slim down the overall form factor. These new metallic additions could enhance wireless connectivity while adding a more complex, premium design.

New “Talk” Button & Microphone:

The biggest change is the addition of a new “Talk” button on the front of the charging case. While the usual pairing button remains inside, Nothing has not yet disclosed the function of this new external button.

However, the company did confirm that the case now includes a “Super Mic”—a high-quality external microphone that may work in coordination with the Talk button.

Some speculate that this feature could allow users to activate an external microphone for clearer voice input, possibly aimed at content creators or users who need improved audio capture on the go.
