Earlier, buying a mid-range phone meant settling for fewer features and weaker specifications. However, this has now changed with Xiaomi’s Redmi Note series. The new Redmi Note 15 Pro and Redmi Note 15 Pro+ take things further by offering strong durability, long-lasting batteries, and improved performance.

On the outside, and in terms of design, the Note 15 Pro models look similar to their predecessors. The phones are still big, flat, and clearly recognisable as Redmi devices. However, Xiaomi has now placed a strong focus on durability. Both phones come with IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, along with SGS certification. This is a major step up from the Redmi Note 14 series, which offered good protection but not at this level. The phones can now handle high-pressure and high-temperature water jets, making them far more rugged.

Battery life has also seen a significant upgrade. The Redmi Note 14 Pro+ already had a large battery, but the Note 15 Pro+ goes further with a 6500 mAh silicon-carbon battery in a slim body. The standard Note 15 Pro offers an even larger 6580 mAh battery. This is a big jump from the 5110 mAh batteries found in earlier models. The Pro+ supports 100 W HyperCharge, and Xiaomi claims the battery can be used for up to six years, although actual usage results may vary.

Processing power has improved as well. The Redmi Note 14 Pro+ used the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, while the Note 15 Pro+ now features the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, offering better performance and efficiency. For the standard Pro model, Redmi has replaced the previous Dimensity chipset with a newer and more capable processor.

To prevent overheating during gaming, the phones use an advanced cooling solution that includes a liquid-loop system with a stainless-steel loop pump, helping maintain stable performance during heavy usage.

One standout new feature is offline communication. Both Note 15 models include a special chip that allows users to make voice calls over long distances without network coverage. This can be especially useful for hikers, campers, or anyone worried about losing signal. This feature requires a SIM card and a logged-in Xiaomi account to operate.

In terms of display, the Note 15 Pro+ retains its quad-curved design, now marketed as a Liquid Display, while the standard Pro comes with a flat screen, which many users prefer. Both displays can reach up to 3200 nits of peak brightness.

The main camera remains a 200 MP sensor, but the Note 15 series now includes more advanced AI features, such as Google Gemini integration and AI Erase Pro, enhancing the overall photography experience.

The phones are available in Titanium, Glacier Blue, Mist Purple, and Black, with a starting price of around ₹42,000.
