Reliance Jio and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) are set to collaborate on a project aimed at introducing a mobile-based safety alert system to enhance road safety across national highways.
Under this collaboration, drivers will receive real-time alerts on their mobile devices, warning them about hazards such as fog, accident-prone stretches, stray animal movement, traffic congestion, and emergency traffic diversions. By leveraging Jio’s digital network connectivity and NHAI’s highway infrastructure, the platform will deliver location-specific safety notifications to travelers and commuters on major highway corridors.
This initiative is part of NHAI’s broader efforts to adopt technology-driven solutions for safer and more efficient road transport. Officials noted that the collaboration reflects a shared commitment by both parties toward serving the people of India and improving commuter safety through proactive communication and real-time information.

Reliance Jio emphasized that its strong network capabilities and large user base would support reliable and scalable delivery of safety alerts. The launch of the mobile safety alert system marks a significant step toward smarter highways and highlights the role of digital innovation in strengthening road safety across India.
It is also very important that the people of India drive responsibly and follow traffic rules to ensure their own safety and the safety of others on the road.
