On Friday, The Information, a tech magazine publication, reported that Meta is going to restructure its AI department into four new groups. Now, this speculation has been made official, as an internal memo was circulated within the department. The news was announced by X-Scaler founder Alexander Wang, who joined Meta in June.
This new organization is going to be renamed Meta Superintelligence Labs, abbreviated as MSL.
The main organization is called TBD Labs, which will be run by Wang. This group will oversee the Llama model, which is known for its ability to understand and generate human-like text.
The other sub-departments will focus on research, product integration, and infrastructure related to Meta AI.
The department of Research will focus on the Research and analysis part, the product integration will focus mainly on the product development and release plan.
The infrastructure team will look after the infrastructure and hardware required to support such huge models development.
