Xiaomi Launches Xiaomi 17 Series After iPhone 17 Release
A week after the iPhone 17 series went on sale, Xiaomi officially launched its new flagship lineup — the Xiaomi 17 Series — at the National Convention Center in China. The series includes three models:
- Xiaomi 17
- Xiaomi 17 Pro
- Xiaomi 17 Pro Max
All models are powered by Qualcomm’s recently launched Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 flagship chipset.

Xiaomi 17 Specifications
The standard Xiaomi 17 features a 6.3-inch LTPO OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 3000 nits of peak brightness. On the back, it has a triple camera setup consisting of:
- 50 MP primary sensor
- 50 MP ultra-wide sensor
- 50 MP telephoto lens
It runs on HyperOS 3, based on Android 16, and comes with 16 GB RAM and 512 GB internal storage.
Xiaomi 17 Pro Specifications
The Xiaomi 17 Pro shares the same display as the vanilla model but introduces a rectangular-shaped rear camera island inspired by the iPhone 17 Pro. This camera island houses a 2.7-inch secondary display.
According to Xiaomi, the rear display can be used for:
- Taking selfies
- Controlling music playback
- Viewing notifications
- Receiving event reminders
The Pro variant packs a larger 6300 mAh battery. While the primary and ultra-wide cameras are the same, the 50 MP telephoto lens now supports 5x optical zoom, offering better zoom capabilities than the base model.
Xiaomi 17 Pro Max Specifications
The Xiaomi 17 Pro Max is the biggest among the three. It features a 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED display with an impressive 3500 nits of peak brightness. Other specifications are expected to be similar to the Pro model, although full details have yet to be revealed.
